Brian Yuretich has been on the SpEd Forms Leadership Committee since 2008. He serves as a voice representing Northeast Minnesota.
Education
Brian earned a Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Emotional/Behavior Disorder and Specific Learning Disability from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Bemidji State University. Brian holds licenses in K-12 and 7-12 Education.
Professional Experience
Brian started his career as a teacher in ISD 695 and ISD 701 and held numerous teaching positions within these districts between 1998 and 2002. Between 2002 and 2005, he taught high school special education in a Level IV EBD program in ISD 6076. In 2005, he became the Dean of Students for ISD 6076 and was responsible for maintaining building-wide discipline and daily activities for alternative and Level IV EBD programs. Currently, Brian is a Coordinator for Special Education for the Northland Special Education Cooperative.
Brian serves as a board member of the Local Time Study Collaborative for Northern St. Louis County to help allocate federal entitlement dollars for supporting collaboration among local agencies and reducing barriers between service systems within northern St. Louis County.
Personal Notes
Brian and his wife Kim have been married twelve years, and together are raising their two children. When not working, Brian enjoys do-it-yourself projects, and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and mountain-biking. For ten years, he volunteered his time with the American Diabetes Association’s Walk for Diabetes to raise money for research. Brian also spends a lot of his time with his son’s scout troop.
