Shane Dennis may be 8,500 miles from his birthplace, but he's right at home in Minnesota. Born in Queensland, Australia, Shane grew up in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. He swam a lot, climbed mango trees, ate a lot of fish and rice, and dreamed of sailing around the world. Shane moved back to Australia in 1985 and then to the United States in 1995.

Shane now lives in the Seward neighborhood in Minneapolis. He lives with his wife Mary and his children Ruby, Darla and Franklin. Shane's children attend Minneapolis Public Schools.
