Large Evaluation Reports and Remote Student Transfers

Following is information about a permanent solution to a 403 error that occurred in sections of DesignMode Evaluation Reports with large amounts of text and during large remote student iep transfers.

If SpEd Forms hosts your site, this solution has been applied to your server. You should now be able to use approximately six times more text in each DesignMode evaluation report section and large remote IEP transfers which previously failed should now succeed.

If you have your own onsite SpEd Forms server, please follow these instructions:

1. Navigate to “Computer Management”.
2. Right click “Internet Information Services ‘IIS’ Manager” (NOT the specific virtual directory for SpEd Forms.
3. Select “Properties”.
4. Click “Enable Direct Metabase Edit”.
5. Click “OK” and exit “Computer Management”.
6. Locate the %WinDir%\System32\inetsrv\Metabase.xml file, and then open the file in Notepad.
7. Find the string “AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed”.
8. Change the value from “204800” (200K) to “1228800” (1.2Mb).
9. Save your changes.
10. IIS needs to be restarted for the change to come into effect.
