Third party reimbursement demystified

Gary chaired the Third Party Leadership Committee that helped establish MA billing in Minnesota and helped provide initial training on MA billing throughout the state. As an administrator for River Bend Education District and more recently Northfield Public Schools, Gary has been responsible for designing and implementing third party billing procedures and training staff in a variety of school settings. Gary will provide a brief overview of the MA billing system, review the steps necessary in implementing MA billing and discuss how MA Forms can help expedite MA billing and eliminate the need for an external billing agent.

As the third party billing coordinator for the Pipestone Special Education Cooperative, Tonia coordinates third party billing for 17 member school districts. Learn how Tonia uses MA Forms to expedite the third party billing process. Tonia will discuss the procedures she uses to obtain appropriate consents; the use of MA Forms to collect activity and trip logs from remote locations; the automatic collection of data for batch file submission to MN-ITS; and how she resolves third billing issues with staff at the MDE and DHS.
