Merri has been on the SpEd Forms Forms Committee since 2013. She serves as a voice representing the Metropolitan area of Minnesota.
Merri earned her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and Master of Social Work Degree from the University of St. Thomas in 1997. In 2007 she earned her license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Then, in 2011 Merri earned her K-12 Principal License and Special Education Director License from St. Cloud State University.
After several clinical social work positions in various locations, in 2002 she began working for Burnsville Eagan Savage School District as a Clinical Social Worker serving students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD) from grades K-21. In 2005 Merri began working for Minnesota River Valley Special Education Cooperative as a social worker in the Setting IV EBD High School Program. In 2011, she began working as a Special Education Coordinator at South West Metro Educational Cooperative. Merri is responsible for a number of programs including the Setting IV EBD High School Programs, the Setting IV EBD Elementary Program, the Day Treatment Program and educational services provides at Carver County Jail and Scott County Juvenile Alternative Facility.
Outside of work, Merri enjoys gardening, walking and spending time with her family.
